J. Brian Liddy, MD

My first 20 years as a physician was spent primarily treating acute pain. As an anesthesiologist and emergency medicine physician, my main job was to mitigate sudden and often unexpected painful conditions.  As my career progressed, I became more involved with the complex interactions that occur with chronic pain.  My additional training in interventional pain medicine has shown me that there is no single pill that can be taken to alleviate chronic pain. It often requires a skillful team of interventionalists, primary physicians, surgeons, physical therapists, psychologists and family members. It is my goal to utilize and coordinate this team to bring my patients' pain to a level where they can enjoy their lives again.

It is an exciting time to be in pain medicine because of the multitude of developing narcotic-free

technologies and interventions for treating pain.
When I’m not spending time with my patients, you will find me outside enjoying Oregon.  I enjoy skiing, surfing, biking, running, hiking, traveling and playing all sorts of music.
